More than any year I remember — there are numerous fires in the Desolation Peak area. Fire command has named them the NW Pasayten Complex. Here are 2 links:

The map shows them just east of the peak — the larger one is further east i.e. deeper in the Pasayten. Some of the trails are closed and in fact the PCT to the east is also closed 15 miles short of the finish.
The LO still should have a good view if it is not ” smoked out “. There are also fires burning to the west of Ross Lake — the Chilliwack Complex. This has closed the Hannegan Pass trails including the Copper Loop. The Copper LO has been wrapped to protect it from the fire……..
Bellingham is getting significant smoke today perhaps from those fires as we had a NE wind earlier.
